Long County captures 14U title

Long County Recreation Department’s 14u softball won the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association Class C state championship, beating Wheeler County 9-7 in the finale.

Long County, which was also the District 2 champion, opened the state tournament in Hazlehurst with a 7-0 forfeit win over Lanier County. Long County advanced with an 8-1 win over Evans County and beat Wheeler County 9-0 in the semifinals.

Long County went undefeated in the district and state tournaments, outscoring its opposition 75-10.
