The Long County Blue Tide golf team is having a terrific season and their dominant ways continued on the links Thursday, April 7, as they took on the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers.

The Tide traveled down to Darien to face off against the Bucs at Sapelo Hammock Country Club and really dominated from the tee off.

The boys, who have lost just one match all season, won by nearly 100 strokes, beating the Bucs 183-276. Sophomore Trent Reddish and junior Bryant Bleyman were low medalists with scores of 45 and freshman Rence Skipper also shot a 46.

It has been a team effort for the boys this year with Skipper and Bleyman along with senior Jason Carter leading the team with an average score of 47 and Reddish not far behind with a 49.

For the Lady Tide, they dominated as well, winning by over 50 strokes 162-216. Junior Savannah Wells shot a 49, bringing her average to a 55 on the year, while junior Ashlyn Tully shot a 56 and junior Jaden McGowan shot a 57.

The boys are now 7-1 on the year and the girls are 6-2. Their next scheduled match is against Bryan County on April 19. The match is set to take place at Black Creek Golf Course, but damage at the course from the recent tornado may cause a delay or change of location.
