Team Hinesville needs sponsors

 

Team Hinesville’s weightlifting team is seeking donations for upcoming trips to the Pan-Am 17U Championship and the Quebec Junior Championship.

World-ranked Olympic weightlifter Jenna Bussard, coach of Team Hinesville, said participants pay their own expenses so she is always eager to accept donations to help Team Hinesville. If you would like to make a donation, call her at 429-0931.

Shrine Club

It’s time for the 24th annual Hinesville/ Fort Stewart Shrine Club Golf Tournament. Registrations are being accepted for the 18-hole, four-person scramble at 8 a.m., Sept. 12, at the Cherokee Rose Country Club. The fee is $50 per person and includes cart, green fees and food. Open to men and women with prizes awarded on every hole, closest to the pin, longest putt, longest drive and the bullseye shot. Registration closes Sept. 9. Send players’ names and handicaps to:

Church seeks
Christian bowlers

 

Christian bowlers are needed for a new community church bowling league. Bowlers will meet each Thursday night at 6:45 p.m. at MARNE Lanes. First meeting will be on Sept. 10. For more information call Jeri at 876-

Homefront assistance

 

Operation Homefront is helping financially strapped, military families afford sports team registrations, cultural and art classes, etc., for children of Georgia service members. For more information, call Christina Anthony or Ashley Carpenter at 368-9622.

 

Soccer registration

 

 

The YMCA is registering for its fall soccer program. Children ages 3-15 are eligible. Practice begins Saturday, Sept. 12. Registration ends when the teams are full. Volunteer coaches are needed. For more information, call Richard Somerville at 368-9622.

 

After-school program

 

The St. James Center is accepting registration for its free after-school program, which includes homework assistance for children enrolled in kindergarten-6th grade.
