Salon, boutique has ribbon cutting

Liberty County Minority Chamber hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Mieka’s Hair Affair and Dee’stinctive Fashions on July 29 at 3707 East Oglethorpe Highway in Hinesville.

Councilwoman Diana Reid opened with prayer then wished owners Mieka Tatum-Bond and Demetriss Williams success.

LCMC founder and CEO Sabrina Newby, asked the owners to describe their emotions. Both said their perseverance and hard work paid off.

“I thank God that he blessed me with not only a business, but a great business partner,” Tatum-Bond said. “We work well together and I just love it.”

Williams said, “It is great when you can get into a business with wonderful people. Everyone here has the same dreams and aspirations, to get together and accomplish great things; we have good workers and high spirits and we want to thank God for the opportunity, and pray nothing but success for this business.”

Guest received free school supplies. There was also food, music and bounce houses.
