It was a frightening afternoon for a Hinesville couple when a vehicle plowed into their living room while they were watching television.
According to Hinesville Police Traffic Investigator, Lt. Scott Hensler, around 3 p.m., a woman traveling on Slade Street panicked while driving and drove into the living room of a home on the 600 block. Hensler said the woman was attempting to brake and hit the accelerator.
It is not known what caused her to panic.
Hensler said a couple was home at the time of the accident and were sitting inside the living room when the vehicle went through the wall hitting the man’s chair moving him forward. His spouse was sitting next to him. Neither of the homeowners were injured in the accident.
The woman who is described to be in her 70’s was taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville with minor injuries.
Hensler said the couple should be able to remain in the home while repairs are made.
