The Liberty County School System, through the teaching and learning department, will offer Focused Learning After School Hours courses for all teachers beginning this month.
One-hour FLASH courses, on announced days, will provide resources, tools and take-away items for the teachers’ toolkits.
For each 10 FLASH courses completed, educators will earn one Professional Learning Unit.
Administrators encourage teachers and paraprofessionals to attend and personalize their professional learning portfolios. Topics will center on high-impact strategies, upcoming information, tips and teacher tools.
Some initial FLASH courses include “I have the Data … Now What?” “Flexible Grouping with Ease,” “Differentiated Instructional Strategies” and “The New Assessments.”
To support teachers along the way, the technology department throughout the year will offer “App Smashing” FLASH courses such as “eBackpack,” “iMovie,” and “An ‘App’solutely Seamless Classroom.”
LCSS Superintendent Dr. Valya S. Lee said, “FLASH Courses in conjunction with the Liberty Learning Experience will allow teachers to expand their teaching both inside and outside the classroom. One team, one direction — full-steam ahead!”
