A new club came to Hinesville on Jan. 18 when 22 charter members celebrated the organization of a Lewis Frasier Middle School Leo Club. The Hinesville Lions Club sponsored the club for young people ages 12-14.
Felix Linzan of Hinesville has been elected as the first president of the club and Amberlee Allmond will serve as the first club secretary. The Lewis Frasier Middle School Leo Club plans to become involved with community service. Members have already served more than 35 hours aiding the Hinesville Lions Club with low-vision screening at the Liberty Regional Health Fair in November.
According to Lion Leslie Devaney and Lion Andra Harris, advisors and faculty members at Lewis Frasier, "We are excited to have this opportunity to aid these students in giving back to their community. We plan to make a difference."
Lions Clubs sponsor approximately 6,000 Leo Clubs in more than 130 countries. While helping others in their community, Leos develop leadership skills and experience teamwork.
