Affray

An HPD officer was dispatched to Big Apple nightclub in reference to an assault call.

The officer spoke with several staff members inside the nightclub who said they were unaware of any assault and there was no one inside the club needing medical attention. The officer then spoke with a woman who returned to the club after having left. The woman said she had been having problems with a co-worker and wanted to confront her on a comment made against her from another woman.

The complainant said she got into an argument which turned physical when this other woman punched her in the face and continued hitting her. The complainant said other security staff were present when it occurred but they had refused to step in to stop the fight. The complainant said some staff in the dressing room, the incident location, were laughing and recording the incident.

The officer spoke with a security man who said the other woman and the complainant had been arguing when he told the complainant to let the issue go and not do anything inside the nightclub.

The security man said the complainant ignored his plea and confronted the other woman and that led to an argument. The security man said the complainant had thrown liquid from a cup on the other woman and that started the physical fight. The security man said once the fight started, he walked away from the dressing room. The officer spoke with another security guard who said he didn’t see anything because he was working the door. Another staff member mentioned the complainant instigated the fight. The complainant suffered an injury to the left and right eye, top of forehead (bleeding), and the back of the right ear. EMS arrived on scene but the complainant refused to be taken to the hospital. The complainant said she should have just left things alone but she was tired of being bullied by the other woman.

Shoplifting less than $500

An officer was dispatched to a shoe store on West Oglethorpe Highway and spoke with a store employee who said a black female was trying on a pair of tan Madden girl shoes and requested them in several different sizes. The female asked the employee if she bought two pairs would she be able to use the discount they were offering at a later date. The employee told the woman no. The employee reported the woman kept trying on the shoes and later walked away from that area of the store. The employee said she saw the woman walking out of the store and checked the shoe boxes. The employee found a size 8.5 box was empty. The employee followed the woman to a Silver Toyota Camry (RXQ9192) and asked about the shoes. The woman rolled up her window and drove away.

Harassing communication

An officer spoke with a walk-in complainant who went to the Police Department to report possible threats. The female complainant said she has been receiving texts from someone she does not know. The messages began as flirting back and forth with a subject who identified himself as “Airon.”

The male subject said the complainant gave him her phone number at a nightclub but the complainant said she has not given her number to anyone.

One early morning the complainant said she began to receive messages from an unknown female claiming to be the Airon’s girlfriend. The unknown female accused the complainant of sleeping with the Airon and said “I know where you live bi$#h”. The unknown female made several threats to fight the complainant and reportedly threatened the complainant by saying, “I will shoot the whole second

floor up” and “b$#@h, I will kill you.” The complainant said she doesn’t know who the man or the woman are or how they obtained her phone number. The complainant said she believes the last message she received which stated, “I like yo baby new bear,” was in reference to a snap chat she posted. She said the snapchat was viewed by three people who began following her on snapchat around the same time the messages began. The officer told the complainant to block the number and call HPD if she received any new messages.

Verbal dispute, accidental injury

An officer was sent to a home on Whitetail Circle in reference to a domestic dispute. The officer spoke with a man and a woman. The man said he became upset when he woke up and observed small cuts on the woman. He said they began to argue and he told the woman that he was going to take their son and go to his mother’s residence. The man said the woman became hysterical and he tried to calm her down. He said she was flailing around and he attempted to grab her. He said while trying to grab her, a piece of her hair was pulled out accidentally. The officer saw several scratches on the man’s arm. He said he had the woman’s phone and when she reached to grab the phone he moved. He said the scratches were an accident as a result of him moving. The officer spoke with the woman who said she became upset about the cut marks and they began to argue. She said she has been suffering from postpartum depression. The woman said the man told her that he was going to take their son and they would be in the same place. The woman told the officer that she took that as to mean he was going to kill himself. She said she became upset and called 911. The woman admitted to scratching the man but said she was trying to get her phone back. The woman later said she had no issue with the man taking the child to his mother’s residence. The man left the residence without further incident.
