The man who took responsibility for an accident that killed a family’s pet dog in December has paid restitution.

Roy Dixon Jr., paid $460 ordered by Hinesville Municipal Court Judge Kenneth Pangburn on Wednesday.

On Dec. 20, Marvis Robinson’s Pomeranian, Rusty, was killed by two dogs, described in the police report as Pit Bulls, when they went through a broken section of fencing that separated Robinson’s yard from that of her neighbor.

Dixon reportedly was house sitting at the time and was not the owner of the dogs.

In addition to paying restitution he also repaired the broken fence.
