The 2020-2021 Basketball/Cheerleading season is quickly approaching with tryouts in just a few weeks. We are looking forward to a successful season and wanted to share some important information of clarification regarding the tryout process as well as some general basketball and cheerleading information for our school. Tryouts-Tryouts for Basketball and Cheerleading will occur between November 30, 2020 and December 11, 2020. Final team selections will be made no later than December 14, 2020 for the girls’ and boys’ teams. The basketball and cheerleading coaches will post a list after tryouts and all students whose names appear on the list should return for practice accordingly. Physicals- All students must have a completed physical on file with the school and all physicals must be on the Liberty County School System Physical Packet 2020-2021 paperwork. You can get a copy of the physical packet from the front office at your middle school. All completed physicals should be submitted to the Athletic Director. Grades-Student-athletes must also be academically eligible in order to attend tryouts. Students must be passing 4 out of 5 courses taken based on the 1st nine week’s report card, have good attendance, and no major discipline referrals. Additionally, during the season students must have passing grades in 4 out of 5 courses, have good attendance, and maintain excellent behavior throughout the season.
