Fort Stewart getting new assistant commander

Two changes for Fort Stewart’s Third Infantry Division are among new general officer assignments announced by the Pentagon Tuesday.
Col. Patrick J. Donahue II will become assistant division commander, 3d Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Stewart, replacing Brig. Gen. Edward Cardon who is moving to become deputy commandant of the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kan.
Donahue, a promotable colonel already selected for brigadier general rank, is an executive officer for the vice chief of the Army staff in Washington.
