Bee shared a story with anonymousthankyous.com about the kindness of a woman who should have had her fired but instead saved her job and gave her encouragement to keep trying.
This is what Bee wrote:
"On my second week working at a children's soft play centre I received what my boss called "absolutely the worst feedback the company ever had from a customer." I was due to host two parties one Saturday shortly after my review, the first of which was a 4-year-old birthday party.
"The first party did not go well. I had a misunderstanding with the birthday boy's mother. She ended up shouting at me and arguing with the managers. I thought I wasnt going to weather the storm and considered handing in my two weeks notice right there. After the first party, I went to the bathroom and just cried.
"By the time my next party was due to start, I'd spent so much time crying in the bathroom that I hadn't set anything up. The place was filthy, the party area wasnt set up and I was a mess. I should have been fired.
"The party mum wasnt impressed with what she saw but kept staring at me while I went through the paperwork. She didn't say anything while I explained things to her. Instead she listened and shooed her husband and son away. She took me aside and asked "does your manager know you've been crying? I shook my head no.
"She barely said a word to me after that but from that point on she took over. She greeted guests, gave me prompts and led party games. She even carried the food from the kitchen with me. At the end of the party her and her son both gave me huge hugs, telling me it was the best party they'd ever had.
"I waved them goodbye. I still was thinking about the first party and decided I would tell my manager Id be quitting.
"However, before I had a chance to, the mother was back. She walked in, spotted me on the floor and ran over and gave me another long hug and whispered "keep it up." She put a gift in my hand and ran back out. The parcel contained a box of chocolates, a party bag (made especially for me) and a thank you card that her son had designed.
"I deserved to be fired but she thanked me as if I had organized a royal wedding.
"To the Mum who had my back when I felt ashamed and vulnerable, I want you to know that since that party I've hosted 75 more birthday parties, received two raises and have been voted employee of the year for my enthusiasm at work. You were truly an angel when I needed one the most. Thank you."
