World champ dancer has ties to Hinesville

Luci Caralyne Parden won the under-14 age group of the World’s Championship Competition of the World Irish Dance Association April 7 in Maastricht, Netherland.

She is the daughter of Jack and Cheryl Parden of Aidlingen, Germany, and the granddaughter of the late Lewis Winton Mobley Jr. of Hinesville, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Baucom of Holiday Shores on Lake Sinclair near Sparta.

The annual competition is held every year in a different European city, and dancers take part from all over the world.
Parden participates in many competitions and cultural events all over and performs solo and with her dance team with the Elaine Walker School of Irish Dance of Boblingen, Germany.

Parden moved with her parent in 2010 to Aidlingen, and began dancing with the school in 2011. She became interested in Irish dance when she was 8 and has won many championships, including second-place world champion in 2017, first-place U.S. champion in 2016 and first-place German champion in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017.
