Brown captures low medal honors

Ronnie Brown fired two straight 1-under par 70’s to sweep the Saturday and Sunday Jake Blitz at Cherokee Rose Country Club this past week. Brown’s special rounds were not the lowest score during the week with Dwayne Rye shooting a 2-under 69 to capture the Wednesday blitz.

Mike Flatt and Jerry Dickie won Wednesday high points with +9. Marty Smalley also captured high points on Saturday with +9 with Tom Egner getting Sunday points with +12.

Cherokee Rose also holds a four-person scramble every Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. Players are invited to show up by 12:30 and will be paired with other participants for the 18-hole scramble.

The Cherokee Rose Country Club Jake Blitz is held every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Sign up times end at 8:30 am on Wednesday and Saturday with start time at 9:00 am. Sign up time ends at 12:30 pm on Sunday with start at 1:00 pm. Golfers are paired into groups and are on a points system. Course members and the public are invited to play.
