Liberty County High School standout Raekwon McMillan recently was ranked near the top of college football recruiter Tom Lemming’s list of the top 100 players for the class of 2014.
As released and reported on maxpreps.com Tuesday, McMillan was No. 2 of the five-star recruits for the class of 2014.
This falls in line with 247sports.com previously naming McMillan the No. 1 prospect from Georgia and No. 2 nationwide prospect for 2014. And it is the reason why Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia and many other Division I schools have set their sights on the young man.
This week, Dawgsports.com reported that highlights from McMillan’s junior season paint a picture of an athlete with the size and strength to stuff the run.
The report also said McMillan displayed the speed and athleticism to rush the passer, and that McMillan is versatile enough to fit the 3-4 defensive scheme run by UGA defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.
McMillan will be a senior next fall for the Panthers, who are coming off a 6-4 season.
