After-school
program

The St. James Center is accepting registration for its free after-school program, which includes homework assistance for children enrolled in kindergarten-sixth grade. The program runs from 4-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday. For more information, call St. James at 884-3016 or program coordinator Alfreda Golden at 884-3205.

Homefront
assistance

Operation Homefront is helping financially strapped, military families afford sports team registrations, cultural and art classes, etc., for children of Georgia service members. For more information, call Christina Anthony or Ashley Carpenter at 368-9622.

Kickball tournament is Oct. 24

 

Fountain of Youth, in conjunction with End Zone Athletics, will have an inaugural Monster Coed Kickball Tournament on Oct. 24, at Paulson softball complex in Savannah. The tournament is an all-day event. Teams must have 15 players with a minimum of six women per team. Individuals may register to be placed on teams. Participants must be at least 18 years old. The fee is $25 per player. All teams are guaranteed three games.

Corporate teams and sponsors are welcome. Costumes are optional, but welcome. Prizes will be awarded for the top teams, team spirit, the best theme and the best costume. For more information, call 302-7015 or go to www.myspace.com/endzonefootball.

Cherokee Rose Club running specials

Cherokee Rose Country Club is running several specials throughout October. The first deal is available Monday-Thursday for $22 plus tax and includes 18 holes with a cart. Nine holes with a cart costs $18 plus tax.

Unlimited play is available Monday-Thursday for $28 plus tax.

The Saturday twilight special is available after 2:30 p.m. Eighteen holes with a cart costs $24 plus tax, and nine holes with a cart costs $20 plus tax.
