Hope is the one thing we really need

A few years ago there was a popular song called, “All You Need is Love.” I agree that real love is needed and it’s nice to be on the receiving end, but the thing most needed is hope.
Experts say that we can live without food anywhere from 40-50 days. We can live without water around three days and we can live without air up to three minutes. But we cannot live without hope for one second.
As I am sitting and writing this, I am looking at a small picture frame on my office wall that has the word “hope” in large print in the middle of it. Right under this word is in smaller lettering a scripture reference of 1 Peter 3:15 which says, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”
This is a reminder that, first of all, there is real hope offered through Jesus Christ — he offers the hope of a life filled with joy, peace and contentment and then eternal life in this place called heaven.
And second, it is a reminder that we are to be bearers of this hope to a world that is constantly reaching out for it.
If you haven’t found this hope, give Jesus a chance — you will not be disappointed. If you have found it, then be willing to share it.
