Goldenheirs hear of emergency preparation

Liberty County Emergency Management Agency Director Mike Hodges and Deputy Director Larry Logan spoke at the Goldenheirs’ April meeting.
They discussed possible disaster scenarios, including floods, hurricanes, tornadoes and fires.
Hodges and Logan encouraged club members to opt for early evacuation in case of a hurricane.
They also said following the proper routes and rules and early preparation is essential for safety reasons.
Goldenheirs is a senior group that meets for a covered-dish lunch and program at noon the first Tuesday of each month in the social hall at First Baptist in Hinesville.
Brenda McMillan from St. Joseph’s/Candler Home Health Care will be the guest speaker at the next meeting Tuesday, May 3.
