Two students from Diamond Elementary School on Fort Stewart have been selected as finalists for the National American Miss Georgia Pageant.
Sarah-Faith Williams, 11, and Hope-Gracelyn Williams, 9, will compete in the pageant, which will be July 3-5 at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel in Atlanta. Hope-Gracelyn Williams will compete in the Jr. Pre-Teen division for ages 7-9, and Sarah-Faith Williams will compete in the Pre-Teen division for ages 10-12.
The girls have won and placed in contests through KidzBop.com.
According to a news release, emphasis for contestants will be on gaining self-confidence, learning new skills, learning good attitudes about competition, and setting and achieving personal goals. The pageant is based on inner beauty, poise and presentation. The winner will receive a $1,000 cash reward, the official crown, banner, a bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the national pageant Disneyland in California.
The girls are daughters of Sfc. Christopher and Sharon Williams.
