Goody's foot traffic steady since opening

Since the return of Goody’s to Hinesville and its July 22 grand opening, the family clothing and accessories store continues to experience steady traffic. “It’s been very heavy,” assistant manager Lee Deen said. “We’ve had a little bit everywhere.”
At Goody’s, “everywhere” means not just the traditionally popular children’s and women’s departments but also the men’s department, which Deen said is receiving more focus at the store.
Goody’s reopened in the former Peebles location at General Screven Way and E.G. Miles Parkway; both stores are part of the Stage family of stores, which also includes Bealls and Palais Royal.
“The new Goody’s goal is to offer our Hinesville customers a fun, new shopping experience with everything they loved about Peebles, and much more,” Stage President Andy Hall said of the transition. “Exceptional customer service will be our top priority.”
The previous Goody’s in Hinesville opened in 2004 but closed in early 2009 when previous parent company Goody’s LLC liquidated its assets. Stage Stores, headquartered in Houston, Texas, purchased the Goody’s trademark in July 2009.
Peebles, acquired by Stage in 2003, arrived in late 2007 adding to Hinesville’s retail variety before becoming the sole department store-style retailer in town.
Deen said he believes the wide selection and price point of apparel and accessories at Goody’s is an ideal fit for the community. “We stress the family items, prices and the fact that we’re a good value for your money,” he said.
