The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce held a grand opening and ribbon cutting Jan. 31 for animal rescue Carpathia Paws at their now permanent location, 1618 Airport Road, Hinesville.
Carpathia Paws is an animal rescue organization licensed by the state. In addition to rescuing animals, their mission is to educate pet owners about spaying and neutering to reduce overpopulation, to educate children and adults on proper treatment and care of animals and to seek prosecution of those who abuse or abandon them.
“We invite everyone to join our team by volunteering, rescuing, adopting and donating to our cause,” said Donnie Smith, rescue volunteer. “Most of all, we want all citizens to become community activists in calling attention to the plight of animals and to work with us to reduce or eliminate neglect, abuse and abandonment. Together, we can make a difference.”
Carpathia Paws’ Meike Wilder presented Paul Krebs of Krebs Realty with an appreciation plaque for his continued support of the rescue and for gifting the property to the organization.
