Vidalia Comprehensive High School’s Class of 2008 salutatorian Eric Jones graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia on May 11 in Athens.

Jones maintained a 3.90 grade point average in his collegiate studies. He received dual Bachelor of Arts’ degrees in digital and broadcast journalism from the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication and in political science from the School of Public and International Affairs.

After graduation, Jones plans to move to New York City to be a producer for “Good Morning America.”

Jones is the grandson of Lueretha and Larry Stevens of Hinesville.
