Investigators from the Hinesville Fire Department are trying to determine what caused a fire that destroyed two homes under construction in a new Flemington subdivision early Thursday morning.

The fire was reported shortly before 6 am.  When fire units arrived one home was fully engulfed in flames and had nearly burned to the ground.

An adjacent house was partially in flames.

The subdivision which currently has no name or physical street address is being constructed across East Oglethorpe Highway near Applebee’s restaurant.
