The Dollar Tree variety store on the 200 block of Gen. Screven Way was allegedly the target of an armed robber on June 10 in the evening.

According to Hinesville Detective Charles Smith a man brandishing a handgun attempted to rob the store shortly after 10 p.m. There were two employees and several customers in the store at the time. The assailant is alleged to have pointed the gun at one of the employees. The employee said she heard a puff of air come from the gun when she threw bleach on the suspect that she was holding causing him to run from the store and enter a vehicle without taking anything.

No store employee was injured in the in the incident.
