Legion Auxiliary President Annette Owens conducted the installation of the auxiliary officers. Eight members raised their right hands, pledging to support the tenants of the American Legion and the Auxiliary.
Next, District Junior Vice Commander Ernie Mitchell swore in the officers of the post’s Legion Riders. Director Earl Coleman received a charge to lead Rider officers to follow the national platform of the Legion and Legion Riders, each pledging to do so.
Then post officers were sworn in by Mitchell. The 10 officers raised their hands to support the post, and the Legion platform. In a surprise announcement, Cmdr. Chris Mitchell presented the Legionnaire of the Year Award to finance officer Ed Hoffman.
Hoffman said he was speechless and fellow officers joked they were stunned he was speechless for the first time.
