Free Movies in the Park series starts Aug. 8

The Hinesville Downtown Development Authority has announced a new “Movies in the Park” series for five Friday nights beginning Aug. 8 in Bryant Commons’ amphitheater, 438 Oglethorpe Highway.

“The Lego Movie” will open the series Aug. 8, followed by “Grown Ups” on Aug. 29, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” on Oct. 3, and “The Blind Slide” on Nov. 14. “Halloween” will be shown at 10 p.m. Oct. 31; no one younger than 18 should attend.

For the August shows, gates open at 7:30 p.m., and movies begin at 8:30 p.m. The shows later in the year will begin at 7:30 p.m., with gates opening at 6:30 p.m.

There is no admission, but parking will cost $1 per car load. Spectators can bring chairs and blankets for seating. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No coolers or alcohol allowed. Concessions will be available for purchase.
