Long County State Court Judge Richard D. Phillips, who had a long and colorful career in area politics, died Thursday evening at his home in Ludowici. The attorney was a lifelong resident of Long County, and had been struggling with health problems over the last year. A full story on his death will be in Sunday's Coastal Courier.
