SAVANNAH -- Every angler dreams of winning a new boat or truck. Now they have the opportunity to win both at the 2008 Spring Fishing Classic Feb. 29-March 16 at Bass Pro Shops here.
That's just some of the many things to see and do during the classic. There's new fishing products, live demonstrations, new tips and techniques, music and entertainment, kids events, and it's free.
About 150,000 people are expected to attend the 16-day event.
Anglers will also be able to learn the secret techniques and strategies used by the best anglers in the world at seminars and tank demonstrations conducted by experts like Hank Parker.
Other special events include:
• Anglers' Legacy: Continuing the heritage of fishing to the next generation is important. As a way to continue the tradition, anglers will be able to pledge to take a novice fishing at least once in the next year.
• Reel Trade-In: If attendees have any old reels that don't see a lot of action any more, bring them in during "Reel Trade-In" days March 6-9. They can be traded in for a coupon for up to 20 percent off the price of a new reel. The donated reels will be given to local not-for-profit groups whose mission is to teach children about fishing and the outdoors.
• Boats: There will also be a lot of boats to see, from big water boats to small fishing, canoeing and even kayaking.
• Kids Events: Kids can get into the spirit of the outdoors with plenty of events geared for them during the Spring Classic.
Drawing rules: Customers must register to win a new Tracker Pro Team 175 fishing boat and a two-year lease on a 2008 Toyota Tundra.  One winner will be drawn nationally. You must be 18 or older at time of entry.
