Yellow Jackets outscore Tigers 31-21

The Panthers of Liberty County High School are holding a 4-1 record at the mid-season point of their football schedule.

The Panthers toppled Cross Creek this past Friday winning 21-7. Running back Kris Coleman rushed for 123 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown. Dionte Bowens rushed for 90 yards on 8 carries for a touchdown. Jaleel Gilbert had two receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown.

Liberty plays at Tattnall County Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Bradwell Institute running back Kevin Harris rushed for 226 yards and three touchdowns but it wasn’t enough to give the Tigers a victory Friday at Hokey Jackson Stadium. The Yellow Jackets outscored the Tigers 31-21 for the win.

Harris scored all three of the Tigers’ touchdowns. His longest rush for the night was 42 yards. The Tigers fall to 2-4 overall. This Friday they travel to Effingham County to take on the Rebels.
