A 21-year-old man is scheduled for arraignment Aug. 10 before Liberty County Superior Court Judge D. Jay Stewart on charges he sodomized a 4-year-old girl.

Sean Custis is currently charged with one count aggravated sodomy (commit sodomy with force and against a person younger than 10) and one count of aggravated child molestation.

The charges stem from an incident reported with the Hinesville Police Department alleging that the molestation occurred between Nov. 24-
25 at the home of the child’s relative.

The young victim, reported to be 4 years old at the time the incident, told a family member that Custis asked her to go to the back of the house. Away from other family members, the girl said, she was allegedly molested by the older man. The family member promptly reported the situation to police.

HPD issued a warrant, and Custis was arrested Dec. 13 without incident.

He was initially denied bond. On Feb. 18, bond was set at $30,000 with the stipulation that he stay away from witnesses, the girl and the girl’s family.

Custis posted bond two days later. His case was brought before the grand jury and filed May 6. His arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 10.
