Hinesville PD blotter for Aug. 15

Recent reports filed with the Hinesville Police Department include:

July 25
Criminal trespass — A Hinesville man’s son was attempting to force his way into his dad’s bedroom. When the officer arrived, the complainant said his son left the area. When the complainant went to sleep that night, his son was not home. He was woken up by his son beating on his bedroom door. He wasn’t sure how his son got into the house. A conversation between the father and son took place earlier in which the son asked his dad to help him find a job, but the dad said he couldn’t do that.
After unsuccessfully trying to get into his father’s bedroom, the son went through the house and threw things. The son said he wouldn’t leave until the police forced him out, but before the officer arrived, he was gone.
July 27
Cruelty to an animal — An officer was dispatched to Cove Street because of a Hinesville man’s cat being shot with a BB gun. He said his cat had run out of the house about a week ago when his father opened the door. The cat returned last night with several scrapes on it. A metallic BB was underneath one of its scabs. He does not know who could have shot his cat, which did not seem to be in pain. The officer told the complainant to look out for people shooting BB guns in his neighborhood.
