Runaway juvenile — A woman called the police to explain that her son had run away. The woman said she came home from buying groceries and spotted her son outside with a group of boys. The woman said it looked like the boys were smoking, although she wasn’t sure. She explained that her son was on probation for a previous drug offense and was grounded. He was not supposed to have friends over, and they argued about the situation. He left the house and jumped over the fence.

Public drunkenness — A severely drunk man fell face-first into a bunch of rocks, lacerating his eyes and cutting his nose. Police advised him to go to the hospital, but the man refused and said he would just walk home. Police asked a witness what happened, and he said the man showed up to a party they were having at a Fowler Street residence and drank to the point of becoming very intoxicated, belligerent and obnoxious.
The police offered the drunk man a courtesy ride to his Sherwood Drive home, but the man said he wasn’t getting into the back of a police car unless he was under arrest. The man started to walk home, but when he got to the corner, he turned around and started yelling curse words at the cops. The police advised him it was 2 a.m. and he was disturbing the peace. The man kept yelling, so he was arrested and taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
