Liberty County Sheriff's blotter for June 5
crime scene

Here are some of the recent reports filed by deputies with the Liberty County Sheriff's Office:

May 23
DUI, marijuana possession — A deputy pulled over a vehicle near M&M Motors.
A man was in the driver’s seat, along with two other men in the car, and said he was driving to Fort Stewart. The deputy reported smelling alcohol from the vehicle. The man was asked to perform several sobriety tests and failed all of them.
When running a check on the man, the deputy was notified that the man was wanted by Hinesville Police Department.
The deputy also found a bag of marijuana in the car, which the man denied was his, but the deputy suspected it did belong to the man.

May 24
Theft by taking, entering automobile — At
9 a.m., a deputy responded to Marshview Drive in Midway in reference to a theft. The complainant had invited friends over the night before.
The guests were too intoxicated to drive home, so the complainant allowed them to stay the night. When the complainant woke up, the guests were gone, as were some items from his garage, living room and vehicle. An Xbox controller was found where the guests had parked their car.
The complainant called the guests, who said they knew nothing about the missing items. It appeared that the guests struck a palm tree in the yard.

May 26
Verbal dispute — Two deputies responded to a reported verbal dispute. They arrived at Fox Lane in Hinesville, but there weren’t any vehicles or any lights on at the residence. The complainant never came to the door, even after several attempts by the deputies.
There were fresh, muddy footprints on the front door and a crowbar next to the door.
The deputies entered the home, and no one was there. The house appeared to have no power or appliances.
