The motorcyclist accident Monday afternoon near Midway killed the spouse of a soldier assigned to Fort Stewart, according to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Harry Middleton.

He identified the victim as Alexander White, 26, whose bike collided with an SUV just after 5 p.m. at the intersection of Left Field Drive and Highway 84 at Miller Park.

Middleton said the SUV, a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, was driven by Ajani-Kamau Azizi, 39 of Midway.
Azizi is alleged to have been driving east 84 and trying to turn left into a private road in front of the motorcycle.
The trooper said there was a 2-year-old child sitting on the back seat of Azizi’s SUV, inches from where the bike hit the vehicle. But neither Azizi nor the child was injured.

Aziz was visibly shaken. No charges were filed Monday, pending completion of the investigation.
Besides Georgia State Patrol, deputies from the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and first responders from the Midway Volunteer Fire and Rescue unit assisted at the scene.
