A Walthourville man was injured Sunday night in an ATV accident.

According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Sgt. 1st Class Robert Balkcom, Emanuel Herrington, 37, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Hardwick Road in Walthourville when he applied the brakes and lost control of the ATV. It flipped it over and ejected him shortly after 6 p.m. When Walthourville police responded to the accident scene, they found Herrington bleeding from his head.

He was flown to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah by a medical helicopter. His condition is unknown at this time.
