Tide Splatoon drops third straight

The Long County Blue Tide Splatoon 3 team is midway through its inaugural season and is looking to make a bounceback in the latter half of the year. Release the Kraken took on Seckinger High School on Tuesday, March 7 and fell 3-0.

In the first round of Turf War, the game was close at the beginning, with Release the Kraken taking an early percentage lead in the game. However, the Jaguars made a slow push near the end of the round and won the game 57 percent to 33 percent.

In the first game, Hope Mitchell led with 1,102 paint and three kills while Tristan McNeal was close behind her with 1,022 paint and three kills. Faith Mitchell and Emma Graves both recorded two kills in the Turf War game.

The second round of Rainmaker was all Jaguars as they quickly pushed and took both pedestals, earning a knockout victory over Release the Kraken in less than 30 seconds.

In the Splat Zones round, Release the Kraken took a lead about a minute into the game and held control for about 20 seconds before losing it back to the Jaguars. They never relinquished control and won on a knockout victory 78-0.

McNeal led for the Tide in the Splat Zones with 945 paint and five kills. Graves added three kills while both Mitchells each had over 500 paint and two kills.

With the loss, Release the Kraken is now 1-3 on the season and will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday, March 14.
