Gateway says thank you
Letter to the Editor
Thank you

Dear Editor:

At a time when the world seems so grim, it is wonderful to know that the people of Liberty County still care for one another.  On behalf of the Gateway Behavioral Health Services Special Olympics Team and all of the individuals that attend the Gateway Liberty Day Center, we would like to thank our local American Legion (Women’s Auxiliary # 168 and Men’s Auxiliary # 168) for faithfully hosting the Gateway Liberty Day Center with a Halloween /Fall Party for over twenty years.  Each year these wonderful community servants see fit to shower the individuals that attend the center with food, fun, music and an overall great time!   The cost to the individuals that attend our Day Center do not pay one penny and they are treated with exceptional kindness.   Some of the volunteers from this year’s events include Anet Owns, President of the Ladies Auxiliary # 168, Lisa Knapp, Linda Cooper, and Roxy Duncan.  Several others volunteered and all of the individuals, families, friends, and staff are eternally grateful for the joy that the members of the American Legion bring to each of us yearly.   It is because of their generosity that our individuals have something to look forward to as part of the Center’s outings.

Again, thank you for your kindness.  It is contagious and we thank each of you for the special joy you gave to each of our individuals. Happy Holidays to everyone!

Respectfully,

The Individuals, Family, Friends, and Staff of Gateway Liberty Day Center
