Barracudas drop a slot

After holding the No. 1 spot for more than a week the Hinesville Barracudas slipped a notch in the nation on the United States Specialty Sports Association’s 14U Class AA Power Rating.
The USSSA power rating system was designed as a way to fairly rank teams, of the same class, that have not played the same number of games. It uses winning percentages of teams and their opponents along with number of games played and record.
The North Texas Warriors assumed the No. 1 spot with a rating of 1,373. The Barracudas are at 1,308.
The boys took third place at the Mother’s Day Mash in Pooler May 11. They bounced back last weekend at the Spring Hill Suites Triple Play Tournament in Statesboro finishing in second place.
The team is taking a break as players finish the Liberty County Recreation Department baseball season with their respective teams.
On June 8, they head to the state championships in Monroe, followed by the USSSA 14U Class-AA World Series in Tennessee for the Fourth of July weekend.
