For the first time in his University of Tennessee career, Midway native Jordan McRae has been named the Southeastern Conference men’s basketball player of the week, according to utsports.com.
McRae averaged 22.5 points, three rebounds, 2.5 blocks and two assists in wins last week over The Citadel and Tennessee State. McRae, a Liberty County High School alum, shot 64 percent from the field (16 of 25) and 55.6 percent from 3-point range (5 of 9) in those games. He also tallied five blocked shots, including three against The Citadel.
