STATESBORO — Georgia Southern volleyball player Moriah Bellissimo was named the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and men’s soccer player Aleksandar Tomic earned Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor.
The two received the awards at last week’s Georgia Southern University Honors Day.
6 Eagles named
All-SoCon Academic
Six Georgia Southern student-athletes were selected to the Winter Academic All-Southern Conference Team.
Women’s basketball led the way for the Eagles with five selections, while Sara Curry represented the women’s indoor track and field team.
Basketball players honored were Anna Claire Knight, Jordi Cook, MiMi DuBose, Meredyth Frye and Ronnesha Smith.
