Seniors honored during sweep

A friendly soccer competition between Bradwell Institute and neighboring Long County High School resulted in a shutout sweep for the BI teams Tuesday at Olvey Field.
The Lady Tigers won, 10-0, and the Tigers won, 4-0.
Between games, the Tigers honored outgoing senior players Ashley Howe, Ashley Riles, Breanna Lindsey, Sarah Wells, Keaira Harvey, Nicole Johnson, Will Bell, Eric Cooper, Josh Tomlinson, Austin Smith, Will Davis and Ethan Ewing. Also honored was senior Leitia Leiataua, who was unable to be at the game due to a family emergency.
They also bid farewell to foreign-exchange student Johannes Albe, as well as two students who are moving away during the summer Alyssa Havlin and Emily Morey.
The Tigers finished their regular season Wednesday at Effingham County, where the girls lost, 4-2, and the boys won, 4-0.
The girls ended the season 7-9 overall and 5-8 in region play, while the boys went 8-8 and 5-8.
