Athletes from the Liberty County Sport Taekwondo Center sparred and competed in forms May 22 at the USA Taekwondo Regional National Qualifier Tournament in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Led by taekwondo hall-of-famer Master Rafael Medina, five competitors earned nine medals.
"The next event for our kids is to travel back to Florida for the 2010 Junior Olympics in Orlando," Medina said. "The hard work paid off at the end. These kids represent Hinesville well."
