On March 24, a sewage spill occurred on Fort Stewart. Drinking water is safe, and was not affected by the spill. The spill is also not a major spill.

An estimated 1,500 gallons of sewage flowed out of the ground and into a storm water drop inlet that discharges into Mill Creek on Fort Stewart. The spill was caused by a break in the eight-inch force main. Installation public works personnel responded immediately and corrected the problem, preventing further spillage and minimizing environmental impacts.
