A Hinesville couple was arrested in connection with an armed robbery on May 7, which occurred outside the Dollar General store located in the 1100 block of West Oglethorpe Highway.

LT. William Oberlander, of the Hinesville Police Department detectives division, said a 56 year old woman was exiting the Dollar General when she was approached by a man believed to be holding a weapon. The man demanded money from the woman who handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to him.

After robbing the woman, the man entered a vehicle and as the vehicle was leaving the parking lot, the woman took a photo of the car which included the license plate number.

The arriving officers and detectives were  able to identify the vehicles owner and address. Officers combed the 1200 block of Jubail Drive in the Eagles Landing subdivision and found the vehicle parked outside of the residence the vehicle was registered to.

Oberlander said officers set up surveillance of the residence and arrested the couple as they exited the home without incident.

Arrested were, Wayman Howard, 34, and Diamond Arroyo, 25, both were charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of Marijuana with the intent to distribute. As of this posting their bond has been denied by a Liberty County Magistrate Judge.
