The First Preparatory Christian Academy Highlanders swept the top spots for the GIAA’s Region 6-A basketball honors.
Coach Shane Smith was named region coach of the year, as the Highlanders are 19-3 and won the region championship. Robert McCloud was named player of the year in the region after averaging 22.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
FPCA had five other players earn all-region accolades – Brandon Betton, Elijah Bartlett, De’Vion Clark, Jace Reid and Malachi Furlow. Betton, a junior, is averaging 11.2 points and 4 assists per game. Furlow, also a junior, is averaging 14.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Clark, a sophomore, is averaging 12 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.1 steals per game. Reid is averaging 5.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game and Bartlett is averaging 2.6 points and 2 rebounds per game.
