Mizell advances to round 2

STATESBORO — Evan Challenger and Aaron Mizell were named to the College Sports Madness’ All-Sun Belt Conference First Team.
Challenger posted a
5-3 record and ranked second in the Sun Belt with a 2.03 ERA. He struck out
58 batters to just 22 walks over 80 innings. The redshirt sophomore left-hander allowed just 10 extra-base hits and held opponents to a
.237 batting average.
Mizell hit .292 with a .380 on-base percentage and .539 slugging percentage with 12 doubles and
12 home runs. He was second on the team with a
.292 batting average and led the squad in both runs scored (46) and RBI (40).

OMAHA, Neb. — Georgia Southern baseball’s Aaron Mizell finished fifth in the first round of fan voting for the 2015 TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby Fan’s Choice Award.
Mizell advanced to the second round of voting, which runs through Monday at www.FansChoiceAward.com.
Mizell is one of 10 student-athletes from across all divisions of NCAA baseball to reach the second round of voting. The top four vote-getters will advance to the final round that ends on June 22. The winner will be announced that day and will be honored at the TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby on July 2 in Omaha, Nebraska, which airs live on ESPN.
