One person was killed when they were ejected from a vehicle following a two-car accident Sunday in Liberty County.

According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Stephen Jones, the accident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. Interstate 95 at mile marker 79.

Jones said a white Chrysler Aspen went from the left southbound lane into the right, trying to avoid debris in the road, and striking a Chevy Silverado. The Chrysler flipped several times, ejecting the woman under the Silverado, which flipped once.

Motorists traveling on the interstate stopped and lifted the pickup off the woman.  She was airlifted to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah where she was pronounced deceased.

Five others were also transported to Memorial.
